Mumbai: Sushmita Sen's social media handle screams loud about the happiness that her new found love, Rohman Shawl, has brought into her life. The former Miss Universe recently revealed the "beautiful serendipity story" of how the two met.

Sushmita, 43, candidly talked about her relationship status, raising two daughters, Renee and Alisah as a single mother and battling life-threatening disease in 2014 in a recent interview with senior film journalist and critic.

She also addressed decades old conjecture about the apparent coldness that she shared with another beauty queen, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The two, who put India on the world map with their glorious victory in 1994, were persistently pitted against each other back then.

Of late, a lot has been said and written about Sushmita's love life. The speculations were rife that the two met at a fashion show or an event. Clearing the air surrounding how she met the man of her dreams, Sushmita said that social media played a huge part in bringing them together.

“It’s a very, very beautiful serendipity story. He sent me a direct message on Instagram and I didn’t check direct messages because I wasn’t sure if you check it, you may be allowing that person to start communicating with you. So, I had too many of these direct messages and I had not opened any and there it was", asserted Sen.

The 'Main Hoon Na' actor further narrated how she opened one of the direct messages by mistake as a boy distracted her in the room, making her click on a message accidentally.

Interestingly, the opening scene for this endearing love story was supposed to occur on a football ground but eventually, it ended up in a coffee shop.

When the 28-year-old model again took initiative to take things forward, he invited Sushmita to watch him play football which she turned down only to sit down and have a conversation with him over a cup of coffee, and rest as everyone knows is the history.

The actor, who has earned a reputation of living life on her own terms, has never shied away from admitting being in love in past. This time too, when a dashing Kashmiri young man swept Sushmita off her feet, the diva is making no bones about her relationship status.

When asked what makes her maintain the transparency in an industry where romantic liaisons are kept under wraps, Sushmita said acknowledging relationship is the least one can do to respect the bond that two people share since she believes in keeping honesty and respect intact in a relationship than guarding it against public scrutiny.

"Let the magic happen, don't plan it", is the relationship advice that she doled out to all young people who are yet to meet the special one in their lives.

From celebrating each other's birthdays with their families to Rohman spending some time with Sen's daughters, to working out together, the duo surely knows how to keep the spark alive.

On the work front, Sushmita is in talks with two leading streaming platforms. The style icon in the same interview hinted at her comeback as "newcomer" on digital platform.
