The late actor's several friends and family members, including Rhea Chakraborty, Sanjana Sanghi, Shekhar Kapur, Sanjay Leela Bhansali were questioned in the case.

On a related note, the Dabangg actor has been receiving backlash on social media ever since Sushant's death. Many A-listers including Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and others have been getting hatred messages from angry SSR fans for encouraging nepotism.

Recently, ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali was summoned by the Bandra police to record his statement and was questioned regarding the films he had offered to the late actor. The officials told a news agency that the filmmaker had approached Sushant for four films, but the roles were offered to other actors due to unavailability of actor's dates.

While Mumbai Police is investigating various aspects related to the case, Sushant's fans are apparently unsatisfied by the upshot. They are looking forward to a CBI inquiry in the matter.

Meanwhile, Subramanian Swamy has also supported the demand for a CBI probe into Sushant's suicide case. He shared on Twitter that he has instructed Ishkaran Singh Bhandari, lawyer and political analyst, to look into the matter in-depth and find out if the case is fit for a CBI investigation.

"I have asked Ishkaran to look into facts of Sushant Singh Rajput death case & see whether it's a fit Case for CBI investigation. Then accordingly to see justice is done. For Updates follow @ishkarnBHANDARI (sic)," read his tweet.

Several of Sushant's professional and personal contacts are being questioned to understand if the actor was pushed into taking his own life due to an existing professional rivalry within the industry.
