Mumbai: Actor Shah Rukh Khan and his interior designer wife Gauri Khan offered their four-storied personal office space to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), to be utilised as quarantine facility for women, children and the elderly. The facility is now upgraded to 15-bed ICU unit for critical patients.

According to a leading daily report, the facility went operational yesterday, in association with Khan's Meer Foundation, Hinduja Hospital in Khar and the BMC.

The power couple had offered their Khar office to the BMC in April. Due to a lack of doctors and healthcare workers, the facility, however, couldn't be acquired until May 29. The work to upgrade the space into an ICU facility began on July 15 and isolated patients were shifted to another centre.
