Mumbai: Siddhant Chaturvedi, the breakthrough talent of the year who made his presence felt in Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer 'Gully Boy', raps to appeal young India to vote during the launch of the #UnitedByVote Campaign on Tuesday.
Siddhant was part of a panel discussion which was also marked by Saif Ali Khan and Bhumi Pednekar. The trio got together to urge the citizens and especially youth to exercise their right to vote in the ongoing 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
The 'Inside Edge' actor took the center stage and performed a freestyle rap to encourage young voters to cast vote.
During the discussion, Bhumi said that in a democratic country like ours citizens must utilize their constitutional right but with "a lot of responsibility”.
Whereas Saif spoke about how the power of unity can instill a sense of fear in any government.
"Not voting shouldn't be an option. You can really affect change. I think one of the things that any government or any leader should fear and be really aware of is the power of unity in this country", said Saif.
Siddhant, who has a theater background, said that cinema as a medium has huge part to play in bringing about the change. The actor also emphasized on pushing the message through socially relevant stories.
