Screening of 'Article 15' stalled in Hardiwar

Following the rage against Ayushmann Khurrana's 'Article 15' which hit the screens today, members of Brahman Samaj stalled the screening of the film in Hardiwar.

Haridwar: Ayushmann Khurrana's latest release 'Article 15' is facing backlash from the members of Brahmin outfits in different parts of the country.

The protests against the film continue in Haridwar where the members of Brahman Samaj protested outside Pentagon mall demanding an instant ban on the film.

Following the protests and rage of the Brahman and Sant Samaj, the owner of the theatre stalled the screening of 'Article 15'. As a precautionary measure, a huge police force has been brought in outside Wave cinema and Pentagon mall.

The movie sparked protests by many Hindu communities claiming that it shows the brahmans and mahants in a poor light.

Earlier, the Akhil Bhartiya Brahmin Mahasangh along with other Hindu communities protested against 'Article 15' at Haridwar-Ranipur bypass burning the effigy of the producer.

On Thursday, the women wing of the Akhil Bhartiya Brahmin Samaj staged protest against the release of the film in Bhopal.

In Nagpur, the Brahmin community protested outside a movie theatre by hitting posters of the films with footwear.

The movie is based on 'Article 15' of the Indian Constitution which states the prohibition of discrimination on grounds of religion, caste, race, sex or place of birth.
