Mumbai: Saif Ali Khan said his daughter Sara Ali Khan was sorted enough to deal with the Love Aaj Kal rejection and as a father, he did not have much to care about when it comes to his firstborn.

Sara had a decent start with debut film Kedarnath and went on to experience huge success with Rohit Shetty's Simmba featuring Ranveer Singh. However, it was the failure of her much-awaited film Love Aaj Kal with rumoured ex Kartik Aaryan that took the SarTik fans and admirers of Imtiaz Ali by surprise.

Recently, in a virtual interview, Saif was asked if he had to navigate Sara through the blow of maiden film failure. The actor said that apart from asking her if she is alright, he didn't think he really needed to be there for her as she could handle it on her own.

"I did message her and ask if she's alright. Of course, it's a romantic and nice fatherly notion (to hold your daughter's hand through hardships), but I don't think it's really needed. I think she's quite tough and smart and she gets it. And I told her, 'you have to go through this'," said Saif.

Meanwhile, now that Sara is already in the films, the talk is getting shifted to whether his son Ibrahim Ali Khan is gearing up for his Bollywood debut. Would Saif uphold timetested Bollywood tradition and launch his son into the industry as a lead actor?

"I don't know if I will launch him. It's an option and films are certainly a viable career choice for him. He's sporty and likes the idea of being in the movies rather than pursuing an academic job. No one in the family with the exception of his sister (Sara) have been interested in the latter anyway," Saif had said in an earlier interview.
