Mumbai: Sara Ali Khan is on a film signing spree. The newbie who had her second film 'Simmba' released while her debut film 'Kedarnath' was still running in the theaters has signed the dotted lines for David Dhawan's 'Coolie No 1' adaption which will star his son Varun Dhawan in the lead.
While the news of Sara starring alongside her crush, Kartik Aaryan, in Imtiaz Ali's next is still sending joy waves across both the actors' fan base, here's yet another announcement regarding Pataudi princess' upcoming film.
David is set to make an adaptation of 'Coolie No. 1', which starred 90s hit pair Govinda and Karishma Kapoor. While Varun will step into Chi Chi's shoes, Sara has been roped in to play Lolo's part in the film.
Tipped to be made on a lavish scale, the adaptation will have Dhawan's trademark humour and larger-than-life songs.
Farhad Samji, who has worked with Varun and David in 'Judwaa 2' has also penned Rohit Shetty' 'Simmba' which was Sara's second outing with Ranveer Singh. The writer is looking forward to reunite with the actors and David yet again. Farhad told a leading publication that the film is not a remake or a sequel but “an adaptation in a new format.”
On a related note, Varun will be next seen in Abhishek Verman's 'Kalank' while Sara's fans are still drooling over her mushy picture with Kartik from Imtiaz's 'Love Aaj Kal 2'. The film will be out on Valentine's Day, 2020.
