Sara Ali Khan trolled for worshipping Lord Ganesha

Sara Ali Khan has yet again triggered trolls for posting a picture celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi. Trollers attacked the actor on religious grounds questioning her faith in Islam.

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Sara Ali Khan faced severe backlash from trollers who slammed her for posting a picture worshipping Lord Ganesha on Ganesh Chaturthi.

Sara is undeniably one of the most loved star-kids in town. However, trollers never spare anyone is a bitter truth to swallow. The actor who has been trolled on various occasions has yet again triggered trolls for her secular act.

Sara who is a child of an inter-faith marriage, her father Saif Ali Khan is a Muslim and mother Amrita Singh, a Hindu, has been brought up living both the religions with sheer devotion.

However, her celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi didn't go down with her Muslim fans who started trolling the actor for worshipping a Hindu God.

Taking to her Instagram on Tuesday, Sara wished her fans along with a picture of her seeking blessings from Lord Ganesha.

"Ganpati Bappa Morya! May Ganeshji remove all your obstacles, and fill your year with laughter, positivity and success. Happy Ganesh Chaturthi," she captioned the picture.

The picture wasn't well-received by a few users who started flooding the post with nasty comments.

"Why don't you change your name from Sara to Sara(swati) or something and then worship all the gods..."

"I thought you are Muslim."

"Please accept Hinduism."

"Please Saraji behave yourself you are a Muslim so... please don't do this again."

"Shame on you if you are Khan then don't change God."

One even said that a Fatwa needs to be issued against Sara.

However, many of her fans came out in her support lauding Sara for her secular views.

On the work front, Sara is currently shooting for Coolie No. 1 alongside Varun Dhawan. The film is a remake of Govinda-Karisma Kapoor starrer hit comedy-drama of the same name.

Helmed by David Dhawan, Coolie No 1 produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh.
