SLB, who is busy shooting for his upcoming directorial venture Gangubai Kathiawadi, is all set to revive his ambitious project Heera Mandi. Mounted on a big scale, Heera Mandi is said to be directed by Vibhu Puri who directed Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Hawaizaada and penned dialogues for Bhansali's 2010 release Guzaarish.
In 2018, it was widely reported that Heera Mandi is the screen adaption of Mayank Austen Soofi's book A Sudden Visit To Pakistan: Heera Mandi The Dream Home Of The Whores. The book chronicles the life of sex workers and gives a hard-hitting account of life in a brothel. SLB acquired the rights in 2007 but the project took 13 years to take off and now his team is neck-deep in pre-production and will soon zero down on the cast.
