Actor Sanjana Galrani detained in drug case

After conducting a raid at Sanjana Galrani's house for five hours, the CCB officers have detained the model turned actor in connection to the drug peddling case in Kannada film industry.

Mumbai: Kannada actor Sanjana Galrani has been detained by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) on Tuesday in connection with the drug menace which has cropped up recently.

The actor is being taken to the CCB office in Bengaluru.

Earlier today, a team of CCB sleuths conducted a raid at Sanjana's residence after obtaining a warrant from the court. Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Bengaluru, Karnataka, had also put out a statement regarding the same. The officials arrived at the actor's Indiranagar residence around six in the morning and concluded the search operation at 11 am.

Days back, seven members from the CCB including a woman police inspector, raided actor Ragini Dwivedi's flat at Yelahanka in the city's northern suburb with a search warrant from a local court to find out if banned drugs were kept in her house.

Currently, she is under police custody.

A Bengaluru court on Monday extended the police custody of the Kannada film actor by five more days.

In connection to the high profile drug case, six people have been arrested including Dwivedi while the hunt is on for seven others who have been named in the twin FIRs.
