Mumbai: Salman Khan and his Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai team were working rigorously to finish the film to meet Eid release. The film, however, has bleak chances to hit the screens on festival owing to the COVID-19 lockdown, reports suggest.

Last month, while film industries the world over was cancelling shooting schedules, release dates and other associated events owing to the global coronavirus pandemic, Salman did not seem to have problems going ahead with the shoot of Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. Shooting of the film, co-starring Disha Patani, continued unabated in Mumbai and the makers insisted that they were strictly adhering to the safety norms of World Health Organisation (WHO). Back then, the makers were aiming to complete shooting by the end of March.

However, the shooting had to be stalled as in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, all filmmaking and producing bodies had unanimously decided to stop shooting for all kinds of entertainment formats temporarily between March 19 till March 31. In the meantime, the government on March 24 announced 21 days lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

While a chunk of the shoot has been completed in Mumbai and Goa, the schedule in Mumbai included some patchwork and a song being filmed on Salman and Disha.

By now, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai would have been in post-production had there been no coronavirus threat and consequent lockdown. Reports suggest that the possibility of Salman missing the Eid release for this year can not be denied in the given situation.

A source close to the film told a leading tabloid that even if lockdown is lifted and the team resumes work, it’ll be a challenge for them to finish everything in less than 40 days since Eid falls on May 23.

Radhe is said to be a Bollywood remake of the 2017 Korean action thriller, The Outlaws. The film casts Salman as a cop, and also features Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles.

The film was set to clash with Akshay Kumar-starrer horror-comedy Laxmmi Bomb during the Eid weekend this year. However, the makers of both the films are likely to push the release of their films.
