Mumbai: Saif Ali Khan had said that while he may not have been responsible many times in his 20s, he was always there as a father for his kids, Sara and Ibrahim Ali Khan, and therefore he never felt like an absentee father.
In a recent interview, Saif got candid about the equation he shares with Sara and Ibrahim, his kids with former wife Amrita Singh.
"I may not have been responsible at various times while in my 20s, but I’ve always been there and ready to do the best that I can do at that time for my kids. I have never felt like an absentee father," Saif had said in a tabloid interview.
Recently, when a leading daily asked Sara to respond to Saif's comment, she said: "I know my father very well. Dad is like me, so he says what he is thinking at that particular point. He never really says things for any ulterior motive."

Sara also said that the only thing that she knows about Saif is that he "has always been a great father".
"He has always been there without even living with us. So, I think he deserves a special hug and love from me for never making me feel that he doesn't live with me because he was, and is always just a phone call away. And that's really comforting," said the Simmba star.
On the work front, Sara, who was last seen in Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal, will be next seen alongside Dhanush in Aanand L Rai's Atrangi Re. The film went on floors on March 5 and is scheduled to hit the screens on Valentine's Day next year. Not to forget, Atrangi Re will also feature Akshay Kumar in a "very special role".
