Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is at the receiving end for his latest interview in which he has shared how his upcoming film Adipurush will make Lankesh humane and 'justify abduction of Sita.'
In September this year, a certain section of social media demanded the removal of Saif from Prabhas' upcoming film Adipurush. Netizens flooded with tons of messages saying they do not want to see Saif in the film and the makers should replace him. Unfazed by the online bully, film's director Om Raut and makers stood their ground and the cacophony on Twitter died down after few hours of massive trolling.

The brouhaha around Saif's casting as Lankesh has revived after the actor in his recent interview doled out some details on how his role in the film will be different from what the audience has seen so far.

In his interview with a webloid, the 50-year-old actor said, "It’s interesting to play a demon king, fewer strictures in that. But we will make him humane, up the entertainment quotient, justify his abduction of Sita and the war with Ram as revenge for what was done to his sister Surpanakha by Lakshman, who cut off her nose."
In hours, the interview went viral on social media and Saif securing an undesirable place on Twitter trends. The netizens are coming down heavily on the actor and makers. The tweeple have yet again demanded Saif's ousting from the film and have started floating #WakeUpOmRaut on the microblogging site.

On the other hand, few have also counter questioned the outrage with simple logic that Saif is an actor and not someone who is calling the shots on the film's script and direction.
Mounted on a lavish scale, Adipurush is a 3D film which will be shot in Hindi and Telugu. The film will be later dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and other languages. The film is expected to go on floors in 2021 and will hit the big screens on August 11, 2022.
