Mumbai: The makers of SS Rajamouli's next RRR are apparently contemplating whether to replace actor Alia Bhatt following the recent hate that is coming her way after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

According to a leading daily report, the team of RRR is considering to replace Alia and the name which is being heard in the industry circle is of Priyanka Chopra. The reason for Alia's replacement apparently stems from the hatred that is coming her way following the recurrence of nepotism debate.

This isn't the first time the reports of Alia not being part of Rajamouli's film have made headlines. While current reports suggest makers are contemplating to replace her, earlier reports hinted that the actor might walkout of the project citing issues with the length of her role. The rumours, however, were later refuted by Bhatt's team.

Clearing the air, in May this year, the makers also shared a post on social media saying that Alia is the perfect choice to play the role of Sita in the film.

RRR Telugu stars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in lead roles along with Bollywood star Ajay Devgn. The film also features international actors Ray Stevenson, Allison Doody and Samuthirakani.

The period drama narrates a fictitious tale based on the life of Telugu freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. Produced on an estimated budget of Rs 450 crore, RRR was earlier scheduled to hit theatres on January 8, 2021. The makers, however, will be looking for another date since the filming has been halted due to the spread of COVID-19 and the team needs measurable time for post-production which also includes CGI.

Meanwhile, Alia has Sadak 2 ready to release on OTT platform. The actor also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi and Karan Johar's Takht in her kitty which are at the various level of production.
