Mumbai: Rishi Kapoor, who is undergoing medical treatment in New York for nearly a year, might come back home to celebrate his 67th birthday on September 4.
According to a leading daily report, the 66-year-old actor is recovering well and will be back in India to ring in his birthday with family and friends.
“Yes, I am trying to return by August end, depending on what the doctors at the hospital say. I have recovered well and I am feeling good. Must be 100% fit by the time I am back", Rishi told the daily.

When filmmaker Rahul Rawail gave out a health update on Rishi on Facebook and announced the actor 'cancer free', it created waves since the Kapoor family has been tight-lipped about the ailment that Rishi has been fighting.

Following Rawail's social media post, Rishi's brother Randhir Kapoor said that he is yet to finish his course of treatment but will be back in the country in some months.
A slew of family, friends, celebrities from across film and business world have showed up every other day by Rishi's side to keep him happy and entertained.

These included Deepika Padukone, Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Anupam Kher.
On the work front, Rishi Kapoor last appeared in 'Mulk' and 'Rajma Chawal'.
