Ranveer debuts as a commentator at 2019 Cricket World Cup

Gully Boy star, who will essay the role of cricketer Kapil Dev in his upcoming film '83', made his debut as a cricket commentator in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 on Sunday. He said it was a great feeling sitting next to Virender Sehwag and watching Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram.

London: Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh made his debut as a cricket commentator in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 on Sunday.

The actor who will essay the role of cricketer Kapil Dev in his upcoming film '83' has got fans glued to the screen.

An ardent fan of cricket, Ranveer stepped into the commentator's shoes for the India-Pakistan match held in London.

The actor was seen in the commentary box alongside cricket legends such as Sunil Gavaskar, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Brian Lara and Ramiz Raja.

The 'Gully Boy' star turned himself into a sports presenter for the high-octane match for the day.

Sharing the news BCCI tweeted: "Look who gave a low down of the BIG CLASH between India & Pakistan LIVE from Old Trafford before the start of the game - @RanveerOfficial himself #TeamIndia #INDvPAK #CWC19"

Speaking about the breathtaking experience, Ranveer said: “It’s raining legends, and for me, it’s like dream come true; sitting next to Virender Sehwag – we are chatting and commentating. The India-Pakistan match is happening; one side I see Sachin Tendulkar and the other side I see Brian Lara, Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram – it’s a great feeling.”

Dressed in a beige check suit and quirky shades, the actor sat beside Sunil Gavaskar and was in his usual high spirits as he took to the microphone to describe the mood of the match. He not only turned a Hindi commentator but also showed how to be on the striking end.

On the work front, the actor is presently tied up with '83', a film based on India's historic victory at the 1983 Cricket World Cup.
