Raj Kapoor's 96th birth anniversary: Kapoors remember Showman

Actors Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan and other family members remembered Raj Kapoor on his birth anniversary. The family members took to social media to pay tribute to the legendary filmmaker on his 96th birth anniversary.

Hyderabad: Today would have been cine icon Raj Kapoor's 96th birth anniversary. His granddaughters Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and daughter-in-law Neetu Kapoor hopped onto Instagram and shared unseen pictures of themselves with the filmmaker to mark the occasion.

By sharing a monochromatic photograph featuring Raj Kapoor, his wife Krishna and her father Randhir Kapoor, Kareena penned a note remembering the Showman. "There will never be another... Happy birthday Dadaji," reads the caption alongside the image.

Kareena's elder sister Kareena too shared an adorable childhood picture with her grandfather on Instagram and wrote, "So many learning's from my Dadaji..remembering you on ur birthday.. #grandpalove #legend."

Karisma's cousin and daughter of late Rishi Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni shared a childhood picture with her other cousins sitting in the lap of their late grandfather. She noted alongside the throwback picture, "Miss you."

Randhir Kapoor's mother Neetu Kapoor shared a picture from her wedding on the occasion. It has Rishi and Raj Kapoor in the frame. "Remember n miss both of them !!!"

Raj Kapoor -- is widely regarded as the greatest showman in the history of Indian cinema and entertainment. Winner of several accolades the iconic Bollywood star has been honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 1971 for his contributions to the arts. In 1987, the late actor was bestowed with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

RK, as he was fondly known to fans and colleagues alike, got married to Krishna Kapoor in 1946. The late couple had five children -- Randhir, Ritu, Rishi, Rima and Rajiv Kapoor. Rishi and Ritu are no more.
