Mumbai: Purnima Kharga, Raghuvir Yadav’s wife of 32 years, accused him of cheating and filed for divorce.
From the past few days, Raghubir is making headlines for apparently all the wrong reasons. The Lagan actor's wife Purnima accused him of cheating and filed for divorce. In a recent interview with a news portal, she has further accused that the actor is in a live-in relationship with actor Sanjay Mishra’s wife Roshni Achreja and that they have a 14 year old son.
Purnima, a former international Kathak dancer, has also claimed that after seven years of marriage, Raghubir fell in love with Nandita Das while working on Raj Barot’s show.
According to reports, Kharga, 60, filed for divorce earlier this week and sought interim maintenance of Rs 1 lakh and a final alimony of Rs 10 crore.
Purnima and Raghuvir have been estranged since 1995. They have a 30-year-old son who lives with his mother. Purnima reportedly receives an alimony of Rs 40,000 which has not been paid on time.
Reports also suggest that in 1996 Raghuvir had filed for divorce in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The petition was transferred to Delhi where Purnima was living but he withdrew it many years later.
Besides being part of eight films which were India’s official entry for the Oscars in the Best Film in a Foreign Language category,
Raghubir is best remembered for his titular role in cult comedy Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne, a television serial directed by Prakash Jha.
