Mumbai: Popular rap artist Raftaar has recently raised criticism over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) during his performance in Mumbai.
During the opening ceremony of his gig on Saturday, Baby Marvake Maanegi hitmaker went vocal about his take on CAA.
Strongly voicing against the act, he said: "No one will leave this country."
Amid the anti-CAA protest happening all over India, Raftaar said: "You can't ask me my religion when I come on stage to perform.
Today I am being asked my religion to stay in this country. Everyone is like my brother and sister. And I am standing with them."
"No one will leave this country. Yeh Desh kisi ke baap ka nahi hai. We are one and here to enjoy, so let's begin the party," he added.
Agreeing to the rapper, the audience roared in his support. He started his performance with the song titled Dilli Wali Baatcheet.

His musical performance in the city of dreams was part of the Bollywood Music Project.
For the unversed, the Citizenship Amendment Act seeks to grant Indian citizenship to the Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi and Christian refugees from the neighbouring countries s7uch as Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
Earlier, celebrities from both Bollywood and the Bengali film industry such as Mahesh Bhatt, Anurag Kashyap, Parineeti Chopra, Sushant Singh, Aparna Sen and Koushik Sen among others have lent their voices against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
