Hyderabad: Global icon Priyanka Chopra and budding entrepreneur Navya Naveli Nanda heaped praise on Seema Kumari who managed to receive a Harvard scholarship facing all odds.
Seema, a young girl hailing from a small village of Jharkhand is the daughter of underprivileged and uneducated parents who make their living through subsistence farming and factory work. When she managed to get an offer for a full scholarship from an Ivy League University in the US, PeeCee and Navya celebrated her achievement.

According to a post on Yuwa social media handle, Seema joined the Yuwa football team in 2012. She also avoided child marriage, defended her right to education and played football for years despite being ridiculed for wearing shorts. She will be the first woman in her family to attend a university.
