#StandWithDeepika trends on Twitter as actor faces NCB

As Deepika Padukone gets interrogated by the Narcotics Control Bureau, her fans and followers hopped on to Twitter and flooded the microblogging site with posts supporting the actor. The hashtag #StandWithDeepika was therefore trending on the platform the entire day.

Mumbai: Legions of fans took to social media and extended support to their favourite star Deepika Padukone as the actor appeared before the Narcotics Control Bureau on Saturday.

The microblogging site Twitter was flooded with tweets supporting the Piku actor.

The hashtag #StandWithDeepika was therefore trending on the platform the entire day.

"She is inspiration for many young girls....We stand with Deepika #StandWithDeepika," wrote a user.

"You will be back on set doing what you love without any disruptions in no time. You’re in a great space professionally and will come out of this mess stronger than ever! We love you and will be by your side no matter what @deepikapadukone #StandWithDeepika," tweeted another.

Taking a dig at Kangana Ranaut, another user shared: "Do y’all remember how Deepika hired her own bodyguards during the Padmaavat controversy even having death threats and bounties by the govt. The 34-year-old actor on Saturday was interrogated by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for over five-hours at the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office in Mumbai in connection with an alleged drug case in Bollywood.

Besides Padukone, actor Sara Ali Khan had also been questioned by the NCB in connection with the case.
