Mahesh Bhatt's recent tweet about 'dying men' has invited criticism for allegedly mocking the tragic death of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Mumbai: Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's latest tweet about a famous quote on 'dying men' has not gone down well with Twitterati who are slamming the director for allegedly mocking the demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

On Monday, Bhatt on Twitter shared a quote from American writer Tad Williams' science fiction City of Golden Shadow. "Dying men think of funny things - and that's what we all are here, aren't we? Dying men?" reads the tweet which has outraged the social media users.

Bhatt's tweet on death has come at the time when the fans of Sushant are yet to come to terms with his untimely departure. The theories of conspiracy and the role of favouritism in Hindi film industry are being largely discussed on social media after Rajput ended his life on June 14 at his Bandra apartment.

The veteran filmmaker who has 4 million followers on Twitter is being slammed by tweeple for "making fun" of late actor.

"Why are always talking about death? Are u obsessed with brainwashing and pushing ppl to suicide?" asked a user while another asked him if he is mocking the Kai Po Che star's death and wrote, "Are you making fun of SSR, it's so cheap thinking, apni position ka fayda uthate ho, you have provoked SSR to do that."

Earlier, Bhatt came under the scanner for his alleged closeness with Sushant's rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty. Now his tweet on death has again dragged him in the pool of criticism.
