Mumbai: Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah's short film 'Half Full' has gotten a step closer for its entry into the prestigious Oscar awards.
The film featuring Vikrant Massey was declared as the winner at the ShortsTV's Best of India Short Film Festival 2019 in Los Angeles. The win has fueled its race getting closer to Oscars.
In a recent interview, Naseeruddin said: "The fact that it turned out to be a good film is what matters to me more than any award."
He further added: "I guess it (winning the award) is of great importance to get the film high profile...to make sure it gets seen, so naturally I am happy about it. This way the film will gain a lot of attention."
Helmed by Karan Rawal, the movie is a 12-minute short film that focusses on the trials and tribulations of a young man (played by Vikrant) who is undergoing an internal conflict.
It follows the journey of Vikrant and his encounter with an old man played by Naseeruddin.
One night, following the encounter a strange vibe develops between the two, that throws up some sarcastic and vague questions.
The actor revealed that it was his pleasure to work on this movie. He said: "It was a night's shoot. I found it enjoyable. It's very effective and makes its point very cleverly."
