Hyderabad: Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah has been diagnosed with pneumonia and admitted to a hospital in Mumbai, actor-wife Ratna Pathak Shah said on Wednesday. Naseeruddin Shah, 70, was admitted to Khar Hinduja hospital on Tuesday. The actor has a "small patch" of pneumonia in his lungs and is currently undergoing treatment.
Sharing Naseeruddin's health update, his wife Ratna Pathak Shah told a newswire, "Yes (he has a) small patch and all under control. (He is) Responding well to treatment so hope he'll be discharged soon."

The multiple National Award-winning actor was last seen in the 2020 drama Mee Raqsam and the acclaimed Amazon Prime Video series Bandish Bandits. Shah will next be seen in the upcoming film Maarrich. Directed by debutant Dhruv Lather, Maarrich also features Tusshar Kapoor, Anita Hassanandani, Rahul Dev and South actress Seerat Kapoor. He will also feature alongside Rasika Dugal in the upcoming film The Miniaturist Of Junagadh.
On a related note, Bollywood thespian Dilip Kumar is also admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a Mumbai hospital following complaints of breathlessness as a "precautionary measure". Kumar was earlier admitted to the same hospital on June 6 due to episodes of breathlessness.
