Mumbai: Nana Patekar who was accused of sexual misconduct has been given a clean chit today. Former Bollywood actor Tanushree Dutta who ignited the movement of #MeToo lost her case against Nana. The case was lodged in September 2018.
According to sources, the police have now closed the case on the grounds of 'no prima facie case against the actor'. Police also stated about the non-availability of proofs against the star which led to stop to further investigation.
Because of the insufficient report against the accused, the Mumbai police has released a 'B' summary report against Nana, providing him a clean chit.
However, Tanushree Dutta's lawyer Nitin Satpute told the media that he didn't receive any official communication from the police. He said, "We will challenge the closure report."
Last year Tanushree Dutta had accused Nana Patekar of sexual misconduct while shooting for a special dance in her film 'Horn Ok Please' in 2008.
