Hyderabad: Actor Mrunal Thakur's lineup of upcoming films is interesting as it gets. The actor is said to have bagged the lead role in Dulquer Salmaan's upcoming period drama helmed by Hanu Raghavapudi.
Dulquer will next be seen in director Hanu Raghavapudi's upcoming untitled romantic period drama in which he essays the role of a Lieutenant. For the female lead, the makers according to a webloid report have decided to rope in Mrunal opposite Dulquer in the film. If the report is anything to go by, the untitled film with a war backdrop will mark Mrunal's South debut.

Mrunal's roster this year includes the cricket drama Jersey opposite Shahid Kapoor, and the boxing flick Toofan co-starring Farhan Akhtar. She also has the comedy Aankh Micholi with Abhimanyu Dasani besides a couple of projects that are to be officially announced.
The actor had earlier said that she likes to pick her roles based on stories and emotions, and not on the star quotient associated with the projects. If the film with Dulquer is locked then it will be Mrunal's second outing in a war drama after her upcoming film Pippa in Pippa, she plays Ishaan Khatter's reel sibling. Directed by Airlift fame Raja Krishna, the war drama casts Ishaan as Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta.
Meanwhile, Mrunal had to walk out of Ayushmann Khurrana starrer campus comedy Doctor G citing date issues.
