Mumbai: Bollywood Khiladi Akshay Kumar ditched the luxury of a car and took a metro ride to reach his destination to save himself from the traffic jam.

Taking to his Twitter on Wednesday evening, Akshay posted a video sharing his pleasant experience of a metro ride.

In the video, the Padman actor is seen hailing Mumbai metro which only took 20 minutes to reach Versova from Ghatkopar, where he was shooting for Good News.

"My ride for today, the @MumMetro...travelled #LikeABoss from Ghatkopar to Versova beating the peak hours traffic," read the caption of the video.

Akshay travelled secretly in the metro along with filmmaker Raj Mehta. The actor heaped praises on the rail service for saving his time.

In the video, he says, "I was shooting at Ghatkopar and I had to reach Versova. I checked on the map which showed 2 hours to reach there. So, my director of Good News, Raj Mehta suggested me to take a metro instead. I said it would be crowded then I thought let's take the risk and we went along with two security guards. I am quietly sitting at the corner without letting any know. Probably, some people know, others don't."

Akshay also said that he is having great fun as he was able to cover two hours of distance in just 20 minutes.

Earlier on Tuesday, megastar Amitabh Bachchan hailed Mumbai metro citing an example of his friend who had a medical emergency.

  • T 3290 - Friend of mine had a medical emergency, decided to take METRO instead of his car .. came back very impressed .. said was faster, convenient and most efficient .. 👍
    Solution for Pollution ..
Grow more trees .. I did in my garden .. have you ❤️

However, his tweet didn't go well with some of his fans as it came at a time when people are protesting against the cutting of trees in Aarey forest for metro construction.
