Liger is set to release in five languages -- Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Liger was being shot in Mumbai before the Maharashtra government restricted shoots of films and TV serials in the state. With the impact of an unforeseeable pandemic and uncertainty looming, the shooting floors bustling again in near future sounds like a distant reality. In such circumstances, the team of Liger is reportedly aware of the fact that they will have to reschedule the release date.

According to a webloid report, the September release is stalled as of now and the makers are chalking out a new plan as film's producer Karan Johar is not willing to release the film on OTT platform. The team opines that Liger being Vijay's pan-India launch pad has to have a theatrical release and for that, the makers are ready to hold the release till it's safe to come out on big screens.

Liger will feature Vijay, for the first time in his career, in an out-and-out action-packed character for which he also underwent training in mixed martial arts in Thailand. In the high on action drama, Deverakonda will be seen playing a boxer with a stutter.
