Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's upcoming film Laxmmi Bomb is a fun-filled horror comedy if the just released trailer of the film is anything to go by. In the film directed by Raghava Lawrence, Akki essays the role of a transgender.
In the three-minute, forty seconds long trailer, the 53-year-old actor is seen playing Asif, who enters the house of her ladylove to impress the family. But, in the process, he gets possed by a transgender woman who is seeking revenge on the ones who destroyed her life.

At that time, Akshay had shared that essaying a transgender was challenging, "In 30 years, this is the most mentally intensive role. Never experienced it before. Credit for it goes to Lawrence sir. He introduced me to a version of me which I didn't know existed. It was different from my other characters. Iska bolna, chalna action reaction maine kabhi portray nahi kiya," The actor had further added that Laxmmi Bomb has made him "more sensitive about gender equality".
The film is a remake of the Tamil blockbuster Muni 2: Kanchana. Raghava Lawrence, who had helmed the original, also helmed Laxmmi Bomb which also stars Tusshar Kapoor, Sharad Kelkar, and Ashwini Kalsekar.
Laxmmi Bomb is all set to premiere on streamer Disney Plus Hotstar on November 9.
