New Delhi: Aparna Bhat, who is upset with the Deepika Padukone-starrer Chhapaak, has gone ahead with her plan of taking legal action against the makers of the film.
Bhatt filed plea in Delhi's Patiala House Court seeking stay on film #Chhapaak. Bhat in her plea has claimed that she was the lawyer for acid attack victim Laxmi for many years and her contention is the filmmakers have not given due acknowledgement to her in the film's credits.
The advocate played a pivotal role in real life to ensure justice was served to Laxmi in the case fought at Patiala House Courts. Earlier, Aparna also took to Facebook and wrote a few posts to vent her ire, and had also announce that she would be taking the makers of Chhapaak to court.

No sooner did she put up a post, there were many people coming out in her support. Overwhelmed by the fact, she wrote another post and thanked those who extended their support to her on social media.
On a related note, Deepika's visit to Jawaharlal Nehru University has become a matter of massive political debate since she stood in solidarity with the protesting students against recent attack on varsity campus. While some leaders called her visit as promotional activity for her upcoming flick Chhapaak, others supported her for her stand on the issue of violence on JNU campus.
A section of the Twitterati called for a boycott of Deepika's Chhapaak, while another section came out in her support and tweeted that it will watch the new movie based on the real-life story of an acid-attack victim.
