New Delhi: As Kartik Aaryan's look from 'Bhul Bhulaiyaa 2' was out on Monday, it didn't go well with some of the Twitter users who trolled the actor comparing him to Akshay Kumar.
Whenever there's a remake or sequel of a film, comparisons start buzzing and when it's about a star like Akshay Kumar, expectations are set high.
Akshay's fans couldn't take Kartik stepping into his shoes for epic thriller 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa'. They started comparing Kartik to Akshay and started trolling the 'Pyar Ka Punchnama' actor.
One of the Twitter users expressed his fondness of Akshay saying that none can match up to his swag. He also started an online poll for knowing fans opinion regarding 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2'.
Another user referred to Kartik as 'bad choice' for the sequel and wrote that he can't match up to Akshay's standards of acting in the first instalment.
A fan of both the stars said that though she likes Kartik's acting skills, she feels that none can replace Akshay in anything.
Unhappy with the casting of 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2', a Twitter user sarcastically asked, "#BhoolBhulaiyaa2 without Akshay Kumar? I'm sorry what? Why? But...why?
Another user who seems extremely disappointed with the lead cast said that 'Bhool Bhulaiya 2' will be a huge disaster as he feels Akshay is the only choice.
A user wrote that Kartik won't be able to match one per cent of what Akshay did and hence the sequel will be a huge disaster. He even questioned the makers for not casting the 'Padman' actor again.
Another netizen blasted the makers for roping in Kartik for the sequel as he feels Akshay's level can't be matched by new-age actors.
'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' (2007) was a remake of Malayalam blockbuster 'Manichitrathazhu' and besides Akshay Kumar, the film also starred Vidya Balan and Shiney Ahuja in the lead roles.
Helmed by Anees Bazmee, 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' is scheduled to release on 31st July 2020.
