New Delhi: Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has come out in defence of Priyanka Chopra saying that it's not easy to choose heart over mind every day.

In her past tweet, Priyanka celebrated the Indian army's attack on Pakistan. Since the actor is also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, she was severely criticized for encouraging violence.

In a recent media interaction, Kangana defended Priyanka's tweet saying, "It's not an easy choice to make... when you are stuck between your duty and your emotions, being a UNICEF goodwill ambassador sure you can't limit your identity to one nation, but how many of us choose heart over mind every day."

On February 26, Priyanka congratulated the Indian Air Force after Indian fighter jets attacked the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)'s terrorist camp at Balakot in Pakistan.

"Jai Hind #IndianArmedForces," Priyanka's tweet read.

Priyanka was slammed by many including Pakistan's Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari who among others penned open letters and signed petitions to urge UNICEF to remove the actor for her alleged "hypocrisy".

In a letter to UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore, Mazari said, "Priyanka's support for war, including a nuclear war, undermines the credibility of the UN position to which she has been elevated. Unless she is removed immediately, the very idea of a Goodwill Ambassador for Peace becomes a mockery globally."

Mazari believes that all this goes completely against the principles of peace and goodwill that Priyanka is supposed to uphold as a UN Goodwill Ambassador for Peace.

Her appeal is part of the Imran Khan government's attempt to get the global community to censure India over its move to revoke special status for Kashmir.
