New Delhi: The four convicts in the Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case were hanged to death at Delhi's Tihar Jail in the wee hours of Friday. Following the execution, Bollywood celebrities took to social media to express their relief as justice is finally served in the horrific incident that had shocked the entire nation to its core.
The curtains came down at 5.30 a.m. when Akshay, Pawan, Vinay and Mukesh of the six men, who brutally raped a Delhi student on a moving bus on a winter night in December 2012, were finally hanged to death.
Nirbhaya's mother and father have been fighting an ending legal battle to see their end for seven long years.
Bollywood actors, Taapsee Pannu, Preity Zinta, Sushmita Sen and Riteish Deshmukh on Friday reacted to the hanging of four convicts in the Nirbhaya rape case.
Taapsee Pannu took to Twitter lauded Nirbhaya's parents for holding their ground while fighting the long legal battle for their daughter.
Preity Zinta shared a series of tweets in which she said that justice has finally been served, and wished that it happened sooner and faster.
Preity also addressed the need for judicial reforms.

While sending out prayers and strength to Nirbhaya's loved ones, Riteish Deshmukh also hoped for stricter law enforcement and harsher punishments for such heinous acts.

Friday morning's hanging of the four convicts brought an end to the seven year quest for justice by the parents of the young girl who was brutally gang raped by six persons in Delhi, in December 2012.
