Jawaani Jaaneman first day box office report

The first day collections of Saif Ali Khan, Tabu and Alaya F starrer Jawaani Jaaneman is out. The film has comparatively  registered better numbers than Saif's few solo releases in recent past.

New Delhi: Saif Ali Khan starrer romantic-drama Jawaani Jaaneman grossed Rs 3.24 crore on the first day of release.

Film critic and Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the figures on Twitter and wrote, "#JawaaniJaaneman does much better than several *solo* #SaifAliKhan movies released in the *recent past*... Biz witnessed an upward trend towards evening shows at metros... Needs to trend well over the weekend for a respectable total... Fri Rs 3.24 cr. #India biz."

The story is set in London, and it revolves around a young girl Tia who is in search of her father, and after the DNA test she discovers that Saif's character, an unmarried Casanova, is her father, while she herself is pregnant and the expected baby is from her ex-boyfriend.

According to the director Nitin Kakkar, he tried to explore the generation gap and how new-age relationships between parents and children are based on a lot of acceptance.

Prior to film's release Kakkar had said: "Once I am done with the making of the film, I leave it to the audience. I am more interested to see how the audience gives life to the film, how they watch the story with their perspective. That is the job of a filmmaker."

Jawaani Jaaneman is produced by Jackky Bhagnani's Pooja Entertainment in association with Saif's Black Knight Films and Jay Shewakramani's Northern Lights Films.

The movie also features Tabu and Alaya F, who is the daughter of former Bollywood actor Pooja Bedi and grand-daughter of actor Kabir Bedi.

The light-hearted romantic movie hit the theatres this year on January 31.
