Shatrughan Sinha has criticized Akshay Kumar for announcing his charity amount of Rs 25 crore to PM-CARES Fund in wake of the pandemic. He said that he fears that showbiz will be replaced by "show-off biz".

Mumbai: After slamming Mukesh Khanna for his comments on daughter Sonakshi Sinha, Shatrughan Sinha has now taken a dig at Akshay Kumar for his contribution of Rs 25 crore to PM-CARES Fund to help combat the novel virus.

In an interview with leading portal, the veteran actor stated that announcing charity was vulgar. "It is downright offensive and demoralizing to hear someone has contributed Rs. 25 crores. Is this to say, you are going judge an individual’s volume of concern for the current crisis by the amount of money he gives away?" he said.

He also said that in no part of the world celebs show-off the amount they offer for charity . He fears that showbiz will be replaced by "show-off biz".

Billoo Badshah actor further said, "When I hear someone has given Rs. 25 crores I wonder if the amount I will give is of any use. Stop it! Everyone is doing their best. Don’t make this into a ‘mine-is-bigger-than-yours’ school-boys’ competition."

He lauded PM Narendra Modi for the lockdown. However, Shatrughan complained that it came too late. He also questioned American President Donald Trump’s visit to India at a time when the pandemic had already broken out across the globe.

Meanwhile, the veteran actor is currently enjoying his quarantine with family.
