Based on the tragedy of 26/11, the film Hotel Mumbai will release four days before the 11th anniversary of the Mumbai terror attack.

Mumbai: The upcoming film titled Hotel Mumbai starring Anupam Kher and Dev Patel has got a revised release date. The film which was earlier scheduled to hit the big screens on October 11 will now come out on November 22, 2019.

The biographical thriller film will hit screens across India just a few days ahead of the 11th anniversary of the deadly terror attack in Mumbai.

Earlier released in the United Kingdom on September 27, the biographical thriller film had hit the screens in USA on March earlier this year.

Besides Anupam and Dev, the film also stars Armie Hammer, Jason Issac and Nazanin Boniadi in prominent roles.

Helmed by Anthony Maras, the film has been jointly produced by Thunder Road Pictures, Arclight Films, Electric Pictures, Xeitgeist Entertainment Group and ShivHans Pictures.

Based on a true story, the film will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Announcing the news on Friday, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter: "#HotelMumbai to release on 22 Nov 2019 in #India... Will release in #English, #Hindi, #Tamil and #Telugu."

Presented by Zee Studios and Purpose Entertainment, the film will visualise the deadly terroir strikes that took place in the grand Taj Mahal Hotel.

The horrific siege carried out by Pakistan based Islamist militants at the heart of Mumbai left more than 100 people dead including guests and hotel workers.

The film was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7, last year.
