Mumbai: Television producer Ekta Kapoor and film producer Bhushan Kumar have joined hands to produce the sequel of the 2014 blockbuster release Ek Villain.
Film critic and trade analyst shared the news on his Twitter handle and wrote, "BIGGG NEWS... Ekta Kapoor and Bhushan Kumar join hands... Will produce the sequel to the 2014 #Blockbuster #EkVillain... Directed by Mohit Suri... 8 Jan 2021 release."

Ek Villain starred Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Shraddha Kapoor and was about a hardened criminal whose terminally ill wife was murdered by a sadistic serial killer.
It marked the first time Deshmukh portrayed a negative role. It was released worldwide on June 27, 2014 and received positive reviews from critics, garnering praise for the theme, direction, screenplay and performances.
Besides Sidharth, Riteish and Shraddha, the flick also featured Aamna Sharif, Prachi Desai, Remo Fernandes, Shaad Randhawa, Asif Basra and Rishina Kandhari.
