Mumbai: The life of Dr. BR Ambedkar who is regarded as the architect of the Indian Constitution will be filmed for a television series that is to be aired in Hindi.
Titled Ek Mahanayak: Dr BR Ambedkar, the forthcoming television series will feature popular Marathi actors such as Prasad Jawade, Neha Joshi and Jagannath Nivangune.
Child actor Aayudh Bhanushali will be seen essaying the role of the young Ambedkar, while Prasad will take over the titular role as the story develops.
Speaking about the idol Babasaheb, Prasad said: "He (Dr Ambedkar) fought for one India. You will get to see his journey since the time he was five years of age till the end."
Historian and researcher on the life of Ambedkar, Professor Hari Narke, has lent his expertise for the upcoming show.
Penned by Shanti Bhushan, the TV series which is based on the life of the legend is directed by Imtiaz Punjabi.

Bhushan felt that there is so much to tell about Ambedkar and not much has been taught about him in History. He further said that people would be inspired by his story.
"He was one of the biggest leaders of our country. He not only wanted freedom from the British but also wanted a change in society," he said.
Fortunate to be a part of the show, actor Jagannath Nivangune said: "I play Ambedkar's father. I have been working in Marathi theatre and Marathi serials for long. This is my first Hindi serial."
Neha Joshi who plays Ambedkar's mother said: "I will be seen as Ambedkar's mother. It's a big responsibility. I hope it inspires the parents of today."
Produced by Smruti Shinde's SOBO Films, Ek Mahanayak: Dr BR Ambedkar will be premiered on December 17, 2019, on &TV.
Speaking about the show, Shinde said that it is a "huge responsibility."
She added: "It is also a matter of pride to show it to you. It is not an unknown concept. It has been written with a lot of emotions."
