Vicky Kaushal who stole the limelight with his impeccable performance in films has finally forayed into the horror genre. In connection to the same, the actor opened up about his phobia, his belief in ghosts and the spine chilling experiences from the movie set.

Mumbai: Until now, the audiences have only got to see the heroic avatar of Vicky Kaushal. It's time that they get a glimpse of what scares him.

The nation's current heartthrob is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming horror flick Bhoot: The Haunted Ship. In the promotional video released by the makers of the film, the Raazi actor opened up about his phobia and revealed his beliefs on apparitions and ghosts.

Challenging his fears as he gave a nod to the film, Vicky disclosed that he is hydrophobic and is terrified of ghosts.

"I had never imagined myself in a horror set up. That was really an untapped territory for me which I was really excited to explore," he said.

"For me, my horror story was doing this intense underwater sequences for the film. So, I remember on the first day of the underwater shoot, I was panicking, I was scared and I couldn't really deliver," he added.

Earlier, the actor confessed that he is petrified to watch horror movies. "Karan Johar, Shashank Khaitan and I are really scared of horror films," Vicky said, further adding that the only person on the team who is enthusiastic about horror films is director Bhanu Pratap Singh.

Speaking about overcoming his fears, he told: "It's good to challenge your fears sometimes."

When asked if he believed in ghosts, he responded "yes," taking a deep breath to calm himself.

Vicky's next Bhoot: The Haunted Ship is set to hit the big screens on February 21, 2020.
