Mumbai: Ekta Kapoor ropes in Disha Patani to lead the cast of her upcoming production. The film directed by Ashima Chibber is written by Raaj Shaandilyaa, who directed Dream Girl, Ekta's latest release as a producer.
In the content-driven film, Disha will be playing a small-town Punjabi girl. Interestingly, the forthcoming flick will be Disha's first outing where she will be leading the cast since her debut in 2016 release M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story.
For the unversed, film's director, Ashima Chibber made her directorial debut with 2013 release Mere Dad ki Maruti. She also helmed Y-Films' six-episode web series, Ladies Room.

Meanwhile, Disha recently wrapped up shooting for Mohit Suri's Malang. In the film jointly produced by T-Series, Luv Ranjan Films and Northern Lights Entertainment, Disha will be seen sharing screen space with Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu. Malang will release on February 14, 2020.
Besides films, Disha, an active social media user, has unveiled her YouTube channel. She says she will use the platform for putting up "unfiltered and raw" content that would vary, depending on her mood.
With the channel, Disha aims to connect with her fans in a "more true sense so the content will basically be unfiltered and raw". It's noteworthy to mention that Disha had also launched an app earlier which she had to do away with due to lack of time.
