Mumbai: Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, who was earlier roped in to play the lead in director Shaad Ali's forthcoming film, has reportedly walked out of the project. The actor has apparently put the makers in a fix as he has made up his mind to quit the film which revolves around male pregnancy.
Diljit, who has worked with Shaad Ali in Soorma, based on the life of hockey player Sandeep Singh, was roped in to play the lead in filmmaker's upcoming directorial venture. The latest reports, however, suggest that the Udta Punjab actor has developed "cold feet" about the film for which he was excited earlier.

According to a webloid report, Dosanjh, who is in San Francisco is not accessible and the team is having tough times eliciting a response from him. The makers were aiming to take the project on floors in a few days but apparently are left with no option but to wait for the actor to connect with them.
The report further suggests the actor probably is bothered with the backlash he is facing from religious bodies in Punjab. While he remains unapproachable, the makers are still trying to wrap their heads around Diljit's apparent unprofessional behaviour.
Meanwhile, Diljit is all set to share screen space with Manoj Bajpayee in a family comedy titled Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari. Sources claim that they will be seen facing off in the upcoming film. Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film will also feature the Dangal star Fatima Sana Shaikh
On the music front, Diljit's latest single 'G.O.A.T.', has garnered over 11 million views in less than 24 hours of release. The song topped trends across seven countries, which includes India, UAE, Bahrain and Canada, and it also topped trending list in 16 countries within a few hours of release.
