Dilip Kumar's brother Ehsan Khan passes away after contracting COVID-19

Legendary actor Dilip Kumar's second brother Ehsan Khan passed away on Wednesday. He was 90 and was battling COVID-19. After losing his youngest brother Aslam Khan last month to COVID-19, this is the second death from the deadly virus in the family.

Mumbai: Days after the death of his youngest brother Aslam Khan, veteran actor Dilip Kumar lost his second brother Ehsan Khan to COVID-19.

Dilip Kumar lost both his brothers in less than a month's time to the deadly virus. His brother Aslam Khan passed away on August 21 after he was admitted to the hospital on August 16.

Ehsan, the younger brother of screen icon, passed away on Wednesday at the city's Lilavati Hospital. The demise took place at 11 pm, the hospital said.

Faisal Farooqui, a family friend of the veteran actor, confirmed the news of Ehsan's demise while taking to the official Twitter handle of the yesteryear superstar.

"Dilip Saab’s youngest brother Ehsan Khan, passed away few hours ago. Earlier, youngest brother, Aslam had passed away. We are from God and to Him we return. Pls pray for them. Posted by @FAISALmouthshut on behalf of #DilipKumar," reads the tweet.

Ehsan, 90 years old, had tested positive for COVID-19 and also had heart disease, hypertension, and Alzheimer’s, reports suggest.

The two brothers of the thespian were rushed to the hospital last month after they complained of breathlessness. Both brothers were kept under artificial breathing support.

The veteran actor, as a precautionary measure has been under home quarantine since March.
