Mumbai: Kanika Kapoor's family opens up on Lucknow hospital's claims of the singer throwing starry tantrums and being noncooperative while getting treated for coronavirus.
On March 22, Professor R. K. Dhiman, Director of the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) had said that Kanika has been provided with the best that is possible in a hospital, however "she must co-operate as a patient and not throw tantrums of a star in Lucknow."
He added that Kanika must cooperate with the hospital 'to help herself'.
The statement was released after the singer alleged that the room where she had been kept, was dusty and had mosquitoes.

"She is being provided Gluten-free diet from the hospital kitchen. The facility provided to her is an isolated room with a toilet, patient-bed, and a television. The ventilation of her room is air-conditioned with a separate Air Handling Unit (AHU) for the COVID-19 unit," the director said.

On April 4, Kanika's family spoke to a news channel and shared their side of the story.
“Kanika was given a change of clothes - a medical gown - and the doctors asked Kanika to change behind a curtain in the room. Kanika had expressed her displeasure over this, and later on, about the dirt in the quarantine ward, which she asked the staff to clean. On this, the PGI administration accused her of throwing starry tantrums. Kanika has fully cooperated with the doctors regarding her illness and now Kanika has no symptoms of Covid-19. She is just waiting for the report to be negative and only then will she be allowed to leave the hospital,” said Kapoor's family to the news channel.
According to the latest reports, Kanika has finally tested negative for the deadly virus in her sixth test.
