Mumbai: Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone on Sunday celebrated her 34th birthday at the Sheroes Hangout cafe which is run by acid attack survivors in Lucknow.
Fans and followers thronged outside the cafe as Deepika reached Sheroes Hangout. Many of them brought cakes to celebrate their favourite star's birthday.
The acid attack survivors were excited to see the Padmaavat star at the cafe. Deepika who plays an acid attack victim in her upcoming film Chhapak was seen indulging in an interactive session with the real-life victims.
Interacting with them, the Love Aaj Kal actor learned about their tragic life stories followed by a long selfie session.
In a recent interview with a leading news portal, the Piku actor revealed that her forthcoming film Chhapaak, which is inspired by Laxmi Agarwal's life, is extremely close to her heart.
The actor further admitted that two acid attack survivors from Lucknow have also played significant roles in Chhapaak.
Helmed by Meghna Gulzar, the film is slated to hit the big screens on January 10, 2020.
Meanwhile, Deepika arrived at Mumbai with her husband and actor Ranveer Singh. The actor was papped cutting a birthday cake at the airport itself.
