Hyderabad: David Dhawan returned to the director's chair for Coolie No 1, a remake of his 1995 hit of the same name starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. Streaming on Amazon Prime, the latest version is headlined by David's son Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan. Talking about how difficult was it to film a kissing scene on his son, David said on set he is a professional first and then a father.

David is happy with the film getting digitally released while the cinema halls are yet to witness footfalls in full swing. The 65-year-old filmmaker in a recent interview with a webloid has opened up on film's reception and how film survived negativity around it and became the most searched title on internet for Amazon Prime.

When asked was it difficult filming a kissing scene on his son, David in his signature jolly mood said, "It was not at all difficult since we are very professional when it comes to working. When we are shooting I don't ask him (Varun) whether we should do it or not I just tell him 'we are going to do this.'"

"If the script demands a kissing scene, we must. Practically there is nothing wrong and with it and kissing scenes have become the easiest to shoot in today's time. When you are doing it professionally you don't look left, right, center and think, 'oh my son is in the frame or it's so awkward,'" said David.

"We do it professionally. That's it," he quipped and did not miss a chance to pull Varun's leg and added, "how a hero and heroine do it is a different matter altogether."

Earlier, Varun had also opened up on working with his father and had called the filmmaker a livewire. "He has this quota of work, which he puts down saying we have to complete this much work today. As long as we are completing that work, he is totally alright and as long as we are on point with that work then it is all cool," Varun told a newswire.

Coolie No 1 marks Varun's third collaboration with David after Main Tera Hero and Judwaa 2.
