Hyderabad: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan, Malaika Arora and several others have urged Mumbaikars to stay indoors as Cyclone Tauktae hit Mumbai with full fury.
Categorised now as 'Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm', cyclone Tauktae's effects were felt shortly after midnight of Sunday with many areas lashed by heavy rains, accompanied by lightning and thunder in some places, aggravated by powerful winds.
Alerting Mumbaikars about the cyclone effects, Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, ''T 3905 - The effects of the #CycloneTauktae have begun .. rains in Mumbai .. please be safe and protected .. prayers as ever ''.

Kareena Kapoor Khan and her best friend Malaika Arora shared BMC's post and urged everyone to stay at home. Calling it 'Important' Kareena added a 'Ghar Pe Raho' sticker to BMC's post and shared to her Instagram Story. Malaika too shared the same post and urged everyone to stay safe amid the winds and rain.

Meanwhile, the IMD has warned of winds of upto 75-100 kmph in Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Thane and Palghar during the day and people have been asked not to venture outdoors.
