Mumbai: Singer Sona Mohapatra has yet again stirred up Twitter controversy with 'Kabir Singh' as she took a sharp dig at the film's narrative.
The popular singer, who is known for her unconventional take on social issues, apparently lashed out at the actor for showing misogynistic and patriarchal character in his latest film.
Drawing attention to the perturbed storyline, Sona also questioned Shahid's responsibility for portraying such a character.
Addressing the issue Sona wrote on Twitter: "& how can we keep such deeply disturbing, dark & dangerous politics ‘aside’? Does the actor have no responsibility for choosing to play a part in a narrative that can set us back as a society? Is that all we have become? Creatures of ambition? #LetsTalk #India #KabirSingh"
While many appreciated 'Kabir Singh', the singer opposed the chauvinistic approach of the film.
