Mumbai: Actor Prakash Raj has paid advance salary to all his employees including private and domestic workers until May, amid coronavirus pandemic.
Prakash has urged others to do the same. He tweeted, " #JanathaCurfew .. what I did today .. let’s give back to life .. let’s stand together. #justasking ... looked into my reserve funds. Paid advance salaries to empower all my farm .. house .. film production .foundation and Personel staff up to the month of MAY... finalised a way to give at least half salaries to daily wage workers of my three films stopped due to social distancing ..."

He added, “I'm not done yet.. will continue to do more with what I can afford .. request each one of you who can afford to help needy around you... time to give back to life.. time to stand by one another." (sic). Later, he also criticised people who rallied to clap and bang plates without maintaining social isolation during the Janata Curfew and wrote, “ #JantaCurfew “Yatha Raja Tatha Praja “...or is it the other way around... #justasking."

Prakash has always been vocal about social issues and his initiative has set an example for all. As all film and television shootings have been postponed, film stars have also imposed self-quarantines on themselves and are staying home
