Mumbai: Deepika Padukone has joined the ensemble cast of upcoming sports drama '83', which is headlined by her husband, actor Ranveer Singh.
While Ranveer essays the role of Kapil Dev in the film, Deepika will be seen portraying Dev’s wife Romi Dev in Kabir Khan directorial.
While speaking to a leading daily, Deepika, who also co-produces the film, said that signing up '83' does't come from a personal equation, but from assion and enthusiasm for the film.

Earlier, Deepika and Ranveer have starred together in superhit films like 'Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela', 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Padmaavat'. Ranveer also did a cameo role in Deepika's 2014 released film 'Finding Fanny'.
However, '83' is DeepVeer's maiden collaboration after getting hitched in November last year.
'83' will trace India's historic victory at the 1983 cricket World Cup. It also stars Saqib Saleem, Harddy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Pankaj Tripathi and Tahir Raj Bhasin, among others.
The film is being presented by Reliance Entertainment, and will be released on April 10, 2020 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
