Mumbai: Bollywood celebrities have congratulated athlete Hima Das for fetching five gold medals at the Nove Mesto nad Metuji Grand Prix in Czech Republic.
Actors and filmmakers including Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Bhumi Pednekar, Rajkummar Rao everyone have congratulated Hima for her incredible win at the tournament.
The 19-year-old sprinter won the gold medal in Prague on Saturday. She was clocked as the season's best timing of 52.09 seconds and won the gold in the 400m race at the Nove Mesto nad Metuji Grand Prix. Her personal best is 50.79 seconds, which she has recorded at the 2018 Asian Games.
Praising the athlete's superlative performance, actress Anushka Sharma said: "19 days - 5 gold medals - 1 golden girl! Congratulations @HimaDas8! You are an exemplary example of solid grit & determination & a huge inspiration to young girls."
Congratulating the athlete, Anil Kapoor wished Hima all the success and said that her act of kindness towards Assam in an inspiration to all of us. He said: "A great athlete with a heart of gold. Wishing you all the more success! India is proud of you!"
Actor Riteish Deshmukh urged people to take inspiration from Hima. He said: "If this doesn't inspire you ...what will? Fifth gold!!! What a superstar you are, Hima. You are truly India's Pride. Congratulations."
With a touch of humour, actress Taapsee Pannu said, "Now Hima is gonna make a gold mine of her own. Kudos girl."
"Impossible" is not an answer for the Assam girl, said director Shekhar Kapoor as he called her a "supergirl."
Bhumi Pednekar and Mallika Sherawat tweeted Hima best wishes as the "unstoppable" girl fetched her fifth gold medal in just 19 days.
Congratulating Hima, Rajkumar Rao said, "We all are extremely proud of you. You’re an inspiration."
Taking pride, comedian Kapil Sharma said: "Keep shining like a star always."
